@Play - Round Two

Welcome to sunny San Diego, where our last week has been dreary and overcast! Last Tuesday, we made to call to change our @Play @Pool to an @Play @Park and it was probably a wise decision.

On Saturday, June 10th, we met @Mira Mesa Rec Center for some fellowship and fun. We ordered some pizzas, enjoyed watermelon, and a wonderful salad made by the Lents (thank you). We played some travel scrabble and some Uno. And even shared some exciting conversation about popular tv.

Thank you for your attendance and we look forward to spending some more time with you @Study on Sundays at 11:00 a.m., @Service next on Sunday, July 25th, and @Play on Aug. 8th.

@play, Round One

Today was the "official" kickoff of our summer of activities targeted toward bringing together young adults in and around our church community.  We had a barbeque-potluck lunch at De Anza Cove in Mission Bay Park, and good fun was had by all...  At least, it looked that way from my post behind the grill.

The goal in my mind as we worked at planning a summer full of opportunities for study, service, and fun was to gather the group of twenty- and thirty-somethings who are already regulars or members at First Church into a more tightly-knit community.  I think we're off to a good start; I know that today there were several (if not many!) introductions and new connections made.
