Today was the "official" kickoff of our summer of activities targeted toward bringing together young adults in and around our church community. We had a barbeque-potluck lunch at De Anza Cove in Mission Bay Park, and good fun was had by all... At least, it looked that way from my post behind the grill.
The goal in my mind as we worked at planning a summer full of opportunities for study, service, and fun was to gather the group of twenty- and thirty-somethings who are already regulars or members at First Church into a more tightly-knit community. I think we're off to a good start; I know that today there were several (if not many!) introductions and new connections made.
